Man gets life sentence for raping his daughter in the old town

Hyderabad: A 41-year-old cook has been sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,000 under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) for sexually abusing his daughter.

The verdict was delivered on Friday, June 21, by an Additional Judge of the 12th Metropolitan Sessions at the Nampally Court in Hyderabad.

The convicted man lives in Hussaini Alam in the old city of Hyderabad. The victim’s mother works as a domestic servant.

According to police, a complaint was received from the victim in which she stated that on May 15, after dinner, her parents slept in one room and she slept with her brothers in another room.

At midnight, when the girl was sound asleep, her father came to her and had sexual intercourse with her. Since the girl was sound asleep, she could not resist her father’s actions.

Later on May 18, her father again came to her home and had sexual intercourse with her. He threatened the girl not to tell anyone. Therefore, she approached the police to take necessary action against him.

Subsequently, G Naresh Kumar, police inspector of Hussaini Alam, registered a case. Express FIRs were issued to all those involved and investigation was initiated.
