Police are now looking for the other accused, identified as Williams. According to police, the girl, who is studying in Class 11, befriended Pratisha at a cafe in Anna Nagar. Last month, the accused invited the victim to her residence to celebrate her birthday. During the party, Akira, Somesh and Williams mixed alcohol in the girl’s drink and both the accused raped her when she fell unconscious. When the girl woke up in the morning, she realised that she had been raped. Police stated that the woman had threatened her not to tell anyone about the incident.

The girl initially remained silent, but later felt confident enough to tell her elder sister about the incident when she developed stomach pain later that week. She was then taken to the hospital for medical attention. Her family then took the necessary steps and filed a police complaint.

The local Virugambakkam All Women Police Station registered the case and launched an investigation. When the assault was confirmed, Pratisha and Somesh were taken into police custody for questioning. Meanwhile, police are trying to trace Williams.
