One dead in head-on collision in Union Co.

UNION COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – One person was killed in a head-on collision in Union County Wednesday afternoon.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 1:49 p.m. on Jerusalem Road near Country Side Drive.

Police said a 2011 Honda sedan was traveling north on Jerusalem Road while a 2015 Chevrolet sedan was traveling south when the two vehicles collided head-on.

The driver of the Honda was taken to hospital.

The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not released.

This accident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
