“Serious accident” involving 4 vehicles and rollover of a semi-trailer on I-35 in south Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — At least two people were injured Tuesday in what the Austin Fire Department called a “major crash” on Interstate 35 in south Austin.

AFD said in a post on X at 12:31 p.m. that there was a serious traffic accident involving a semi-truck near 8700 I-35. AFD also said two vehicles were on opposite sides of the highway and one of them was on fire at one point.


This area is located directly north of Slaughter Lane.

In an update, the AFD announced that a total of four vehicles were involved and two people required medical attention.

The department also said the fire was extinguished.

According to the AFD, drivers in this area must expect significant delays.
