Jeremy Renner describes snow plow accident in detail

Jeremy Renner remembers the accident in great detail. The sound of his head breaking. The rhythm of the tires as they crushed his body and burst his eye socket. His legs “twisted like a pretzel.” The Marvel star described the horrific incident on January 1, 2023 in Men‘s Healthwhen he was pulled under a snow plow after clearing snow from his driveway. More than a year later, Renner is back at work after a long recovery and talks about what happened to him that fateful day. “I remember my head cracking … it’s exactly what you’d imagine,” Renner said. “An immovable object and a crushing force, and something has to give. But thank God my skull didn’t completely give way. And then it went on… Cheekbone broke, eye socket broke, and then my eyes bulged from being crushed when the machine ran over me. I could see my left eyeball with my right. I was screaming for air.” The accident happened near Renner’s home in Washoe County, Nevada. He describes his neighbors rushing to help and calling 911 while his nephew held onto his arm. “I was going through my body’s checklist of what the hell to do. I thought, ‘Ooo, shit, this is going to hurt later. Ooo, that’s my eyeball — this is kind of weird!’ I thought, ‘Shit, I wonder if this breathing issue is just a cramp. I just need to get my breathing back right and then I can tell the family we’re not going skiing today.'”
