Poloncarz joins Paul Marzello to present 10 flags, including a 30’x60′

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz joined Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park President and CEO Paul J. Marzello Sr. at the county Naval and Military Park of Buffalo and Erie, to donate flags for park use during upcoming Flag Day observations. As part of this year’s annual giving, Erie County is presenting 10 flags at the park, including a giant 30-foot by 60-foot American flag, seven 3-foot by 5-foot American flags, a Southern flag. Korean flag and POW/MIA flag.

“The Erie and Buffalo County Naval and Military Park is a solemn place to remember and honor the heroes who defended our freedoms, and the donation of these flags is Erie County’s way of thanking them for their service,” Poloncarz said. “Flag Day is the perfect opportunity to reflect on our service men and women, while reaffirming our belief in the flag and all that it represents. »

Marzello said, “The mission of the Naval and Military Park is to honor, educate, inspire and preserve. These flags will help us accomplish this mission, and I thank Erie County for this donation.

Flag Day, celebrated on June 14, commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.
