5 draft picks on roster bubble entering Buffalo Bills minicamp

Baylon Spector was a seventh-round pick of the Bills in the 2022 NFL Draft and has appeared in 15 games over the past two years. During that span, he has primarily been a special teams contributor and could see that role expand even more with Tyler Matakevich no longer with Buffalo.

Matakevich was one of the best special teams players during that era and was the leader of that group. Spector’s experience should give him a great chance to play more snaps there, but the linebacker position is very crowded this offseason.

There’s no doubt who the Bills’ starters are with Matt Milano and Terrel Bernard, but after that, there are seven players vying for two or three spots. This group includes veterans like Nicholas Morrow and Deion Jones, former draft picks like Dorian Williams and Edefuan Ulofoshio, and undrafted free agent rookies like Joe Andressen and Shayne Simon.

It will be important for Spector to not get lost in the shuffling at the position and if he can show the coaches that he can contribute more on defense and not just be a special teams player, it will certainly improve his chances.
