Mobile police investigate after Lyft driver injured in attempted robbery

MOBILE, Alabama (WKRG) – Police are investigating after a Lyft driver was injured in an attempted robbery.

According to a press release, officers from the Mobile Police Department responded to the RaceWay gas station at 3051 Government Boulevard after reports of a robbery and assault.


LOCATION:

When officers arrived, they found an injured female victim in a vehicle.

Through investigation, officers found that she was injured when “multiple juvenile offenders” using her ride-sharing service Lyft attempted to rob her vehicle near the 400 block of Pine Hill Drive. During the attempted robbery, one of the juveniles struck the woman with a handgun, according to the news release.

The woman was taken to hospital to treat her injuries.

The mobile police department continues to investigate the incident.
