The Atlanta Falcons were in a difficult position with their salary cap when general manager Terry Fontenot took over in the 2021 offseason. Three years later, the cap is in much better shape, which has allowed the team to sign big-name free agents like Jessie Bates and Kirk Cousins.

Although the Falcons have not yet signed all eight members of their 2024 rookie draft class, they still have $6.7 million in salary cap space, according to Over The Cap’s latest projections. In terms of dead money, Atlanta will pay over $6 million to five former players this season, including Desmond Ridder and Jonnu Smith.
