The heat advisory begins today at noon as temperatures “seem” to climb to 108 today.

The NWS has issued a heat advisory that begins at noon today and will expire at 8 p.m. Monday.

Heat warnings for today and Monday.

The reason for this oppressive heat is a dome of high pressure over southern Mexico. We are at the edge of this anticyclone. This does two things. First, it keeps the severe weather north of us and second, it gives us a lot of heat. Try to get out early on Sunday, as it will be another scorching afternoon. Take it easy and make sure you drink plenty of water!

10-day forecast:

There is a slight relief in the forecast. A front Tuesday will drop temperatures into the 80s next week. We will also have slightly lower morning temperatures and lower humidity.
