Longtime Buffalo sign company acquired by Lockport competitor

LOCKPORT, NY — After more than 70 years in the sign making business, Rocco Santoro was ready to retire.

The 88-year-old owner of Santoro Signs has sold his business to Ulrich Sign Co. in Lockport.

“I had a relationship with Mike Ulrich, because he ran it for many years,” Rocco said. “Years ago we were competitors.”

Rocco and his late brother Mario started the business in 1953 to make a living.

Terms of the March acquisition were not released.
