HOF Defender Admits Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen Is His Favorite NFL Player: ‘You Watching That, Bro?’

HOF Defender Admits Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen Is His Favorite NFL Player: ‘You Watching That, Bro?’

Charles Haley spent his Hall of Fame career tormenting quarterbacks while playing for the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys.

With strong ties to two winning organizations and plenty of stars, you’d think Haley’s favorite NFL player would reside on one of the NFC teams on the defensive side of the ball. That’s not the case, however, as Haley admitted on a recent episode of Up and Adams. When asked to name his favorite current player, Haley didn’t hesitate to name an AFC quarterback.

“Let me tell you. This white guy in Buffalo who’s a quarterback,” Haley told Adams.

Of course, Haley was referring to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen. At first, Haley was at a loss for words to explain why he chose the Buffalo quarterback.

“That’s my buddy, man,” Haley told Adams. “That white guy. Hey, man. Jesus Christ. Oh, my God. Hey! Whoo.”

Adams told Haley she was surprised he picked an offensive player, but Haley raved about how Allen plays the game.

“Hey, you watching that brother? Oh, I forgot he was white,” Haley said incredulously. “But you watching that brother? You see what Josh (Allen) does to those guys? He gets up like this. He rolls over them and gets up like this?” Haley said, tensing up like Allen.

Allen is certainly one of the most exciting players to watch in the NFL. The quarterback has thrown for over 4,000 yards in four straight seasons while scoring over 40 touchdowns each year. Allen has become a highlight reel that appeals to a former player like Haley.

While Haley loves the way Allen plays, he said he would have disagreed with it if he were playing against the quarterback.

“But if I had played, I would have tapped him on the shoulder and said, ‘You’re never doing that again.'”

Haley made his mark on the field during his playing career. He won five Super Bowls with the 49ers and Cowboys, including two over the Bills. Haley also received numerous accolades. He was a two-time first-team All-Pro and was named to five Pro Bowls during his career. In addition to being named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Haley is also in the Cowboys Ring of Honor and the 49ers Hall of Fame.
