Cyclist from St. Amant dies after collision with car in Gonzales

GONZALES – According to Louisiana State Police, a bicyclist has died as a result of an accident in Gonzales.

Chant Parker, 39, of St. Amant was riding alongside a vehicle on LA 429 on July 1. As the vehicle began to pass Parker on the left, Parker crossed into the path of the bicycle and struck the rear of the bicycle.

Parker was thrown from his bike and suffered serious injuries that led to his death on July 5.
