Mount Vernon teenager arrested in connection with shooting

A Mount Vernon teenager was arrested in connection with a shooting last Friday near a gun violence awareness event.

According to officials, 18-year-old Jayden Campbell was arrested in the Bronx.

He was accused of attempted murder and possession of weapons.

The incident occurred before 5 p.m. at 42 West 4th Street.

Mount Vernon Police and State Police assisted in the arrest.
