Former Atlanta Falcons star remains fit for Zac Robinson’s offense

Forced out of Atlanta has to be a decision Julio Jones regrets at this point in his career. Although, considering the three years of Arthur Smith we’ve just endured, maybe it was still the right decision. Regardless of how the veteran feels about announcing he left Atlanta on Undisputed and was promptly traded to the Titans, now is the perfect time to rebuild the deck.

Since leaving Atlanta, Jones has made stops with the Titans, Bucs and Eagles. In every landing spot, production declined and injuries continued. Without Matt Ryan feeding him the football, the veteran struggled to find a role.

Jones had some good moments in the trash during a blowout loss to the Cowboys in Tom Brady’s final playoff game. However, the big moments of the last three years have been few and far between.

Coming to Atlanta isn’t going to suddenly change that and turn back time for Jones. However, it remains the right decision for both parties. Despite how his release was handled, Jones has always been a leader and the ultimate pro.

Behave exactly how you want a franchise star to represent the fans and the organization. Even though Jones may no longer be the star he once was, he still has value on the field and off the sidelines. Jones can come in and be the 5th or 6th receiver on the field and only rotates to key spots.

Aside from that, you have veteran value coming in and helping Kyle Pitts, Drake London and Micheal Penix Jr. adapt and develop. Placing Jones in a player/coaching role would benefit the team and give them the chance to find occasional surprise production at a weak position.
