Former Baylor players Fanning and Pressley enjoy successful season with Atlanta Vibe

Staff report

Former Baylor volleyball players Shelley Fanning and Yossiana Pressley helped propel the Atlanta Vibe to the semifinals of the Professional Volleyball Federation’s inaugural season.

The Vibe lost to Grand Rapids Rise in Wednesday’s semifinals, 3-2, but it was still a great season for Fanning, Pressley and the Vibe, who finished 19-6 on the year.

Fanning, a three-time All-American at Baylor, has 171 kills this year and a 41 percent kill percentage that ranks fourth in the PVF. The 6-2 middle blocker has appeared in all 25 games for Atlanta this season. She also crushed 20 service aces.

Pressley, the 2019 AVCA National Player of the Year at Baylor, started the season with the PVF Omaha Supernovas before hanging on with the Vibe. Pressley, a 6-1 outside hitter, had 21 kills in 12 matches with the Vibe.
