Congress demands joint parliamentary committee to probe SEBI probe into Adani group

Following allegations made by Hindenburg Research against SEBI Chairman Madhabi Buch, Congress demanded that the government take swift action to address perceived conflicts of interest in the regulator’s investigation into the Adani Group.

The opposition party reiterated its call for the establishment of a Joint Parliamentary Committee to investigate the full extent of the alleged financial crimes.

Hindenburg Research’s allegations suggested that Buch and her husband owned shares in offshore funds linked to the Adani money scandal, prompting Congress to question the thoroughness of SEBI’s investigation.
