Georgia Legislative Black Caucus to Hold Annual Legislative Conference in Atlanta – On Common Ground News

ATLANTA – The Georgia Legislative Black Caucus (GLBC), chaired by State Rep. Carl Gilliard (D-Savannah), will host its annual legislative conference, with several events taking place Aug. 2-4 in Atlanta.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Redemption of America’s Soul, Tests, 1, 2, 3.” The event program is as follows:

• Black Roundtable Launch Event – ​​Friday, August 2, 2024, 6:00 PM at Atlanta Metropolitan College.
• GLBC Unity Breakfast – Saturday, August 3, 2024, 9:00 a.m. at Atlanta Metropolitan College.
• GLBC Empowerment Luncheon, featuring keynote speaker U.S. Rep. Jasmin Crockett (D-TX) – Saturday, August 3, 12 p.m. at Atlanta Metropolitan College.
• GLBC Party with a Purpose – Saturday, August 3, 6 p.m., at Enon Ranch.
• GLBC Worship Service – Sunday, August 4, 9:45 a.m. at Enon Baptist Church.

The kickoff event, “Black Roundtable,” will focus on issues across the state of Georgia, and will be led by state leaders, such as attorneys, district attorneys, judges and elected officials.
