Search for shooter continues after teen killed and another injured in Lauderdale Lakes

LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. – Authorities are searching for a shooter after two teens were attacked in Lauderdale Lakes, leaving one of them dead.

Neighbors described the chaotic and horrific scene Monday night after two teenagers were shot.

Unfortunately, a 16-year-old did not survive and a 15-year-old was shot in the arm.

A resident saw everything go down along the 4000 block of Northwest 30th Terrace.

He said the shooter “was already there when the other two came up. The only thing I noticed was that he was wearing a white t-shirt because it was pretty dark. I immediately saw the boy pull the trigger of the gun with one hand and shoot the two children, and it all happened within five seconds, it happened so quickly. The one who was shot, he immediately went down, he was shot in the face, he wanted to go down immediately, the shooter stood on top of him and continued shooting after he fell.”

Another neighbor said he tried to help the injured 16-year-old and said he was shot three times.

“I tried to just help the way I knew how and hold him by his side until help arrived,” he said.

The teenager was flown to Broward Health Medical Center, where he later died.

The neighbor said he heard the teen say he loved his mother before he was taken to the hospital.
