NDPS Act: Man sentenced to 15 years in prison in NDPS Act case |

Man gets 15 years imprisonment under NDPS Act

Kanpur: Additional sessions Judge Kanpur Nagar Satyendra Nath Tripathi on Tuesday convicted accused Ajay Kumar Agarwal alias Rajan up to 15 years strict Detention and also imposed a fine of Rs 1.5 lakh under the NDPS Act.
The court stated in its ruling that if the defendant does not pay the fine, he will have to serve an additional one-year prison term. The time the defendant spent in prison during the trial would be counted towards the sentence.
According to Special Public Prosecutor Pakaj Tripathi, Naubasta police had nabbed the accused Ajay Kumar Agarwal alias Rajan, a resident of Parsa district of Nepal and currently residing at Adarsh ​​Nagar Ganga Ghat Unnao, on October 8, 2021, at around 10.45 pm after receiving a tip-off that he was a supplier of narcotics (charas) and was active in the area for a long time.
Acting on the tip-off, the STF laid a trap near Vrindavan Lawn in Yashoda Nagar and arrested the accused, who was carrying two bags of charas.
During the search, the police seized 50 charas cakes from one of his bags. The seized items weighed 25 kg and 300 g.
