Buffalo Bills Rookie Keon Coleman Meets Boy Who Sent Him Friendship Bracelets

PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WKBW) — A heartwarming moment took place at Buffalo Bills training camp Tuesday.

After practice, Bills rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman walked off the field to meet 10-year-old Logan Bittner for the first time. Bittner is the boy who went viral for sending out friendship bracelets he made to rookies.

I first met Bittner at training camp last year, when he was handing out bracelets to every player who came through. A few months later, when the Bills drafted Coleman, Bittner wanted to make sure the receiver had jewelry like everyone else on the team. Bittner sent Coleman two bracelets and a letter.

Coleman not only received Logan’s letter, but he also wore his bracelets in photos taken at the NFL Rookie Premiere in Los Angeles. “I didn’t expect Keon to go through that,” Logan told 7 News’ Jeff Russo in May. Coleman embraced the Bills mob mentality before he ever played a game in Buffalo.

On Tuesday, the Bills arranged for Coleman and Bittner to meet after practice, and this time Coleman was the one handing out the gifts. He gave Bittner a Bills gift basket and surprised him with tickets to the Bills’ home opener against the Arizona Cardinals. Fans nearby applauded the gesture.

“You never know how much you can influence them with just a smile and a kind gesture,” Coleman said.

I asked the new Bills member why he decided to wear the bracelets in the first place.

“It was just a nice gesture,” Coleman said. “I knew I wasn’t good enough to do that at that age, so I thought it was pretty cool and I wore it.”

For Bittner, it’s a day he’ll never forget and of course, he gave Coleman more bracelets for his family members.

Bittner has partnered with 26 Shirts to sell his bracelets. Proceeds will benefit Oishei Children’s Hospital. He has raised over $5,000 for Oishei. You can purchase a bracelet here.
