Gordon Ramsay is happy after a horrific bike accident that could have ended much worse for the celebrity chef. In an Instagram post uploaded over the weekend, Ramsay revealed that he was riding his bike in Connecticut when the accident occurred.

Although he looked like a “purple potato” due to a large bruise on his stomach, Food Stars Luckily, the presenter didn’t break any bones or suffer any life-threatening injuries. As he told his story, a visibly shaken Ramsay stressed the importance of wearing a helmet. He even included a photo of his battered helmet after the accident in his Instagram post.

“Honestly, you have to wear a helmet. I don’t care how short the ride is. I don’t care that these helmets cost money. But they are essential. Even the children have to wear a helmet on short rides. I’m glad I can stand here,” he revealed.

After sharing his emotional message, Ramsay was inundated with supportive messages from other celebrities and his fans wishing him well.

“Glad you’re OK! Thank God for the helmet,” wrote Dr. Phil.

“🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 I’m glad you’re safe, Chef who, God bless him, no one can curse,” said Chef Scotley Innis, a former contestant on Hell’s Kitchen.

“Get well soon, mate,” added professional cyclist Mark Cavendish.

“Jefe, I am so grateful for this news and that you are doing well. I send you so much love. Happy Father’s Day,” wrote chef Aaron Sanchez from Master Chef.

“Boss!! Get well soon,” wrote Nyesha Arrington of Next Level Chef.

Others urged the restaurant owner on social media to take it easy after the accident.

“I’m relieved you’re alive. Please rest. Don’t do any TV filming. The bruise is big. It must still hurt a lot. And your hand was still shaking. Take care of yourself,” read one comment.

“Important message and very glad you are OK Gordon. Rest easy,” wrote another user.
