A teenager is being held on bail after police allegedly found about 30 kilograms of marijuana on her at Logan Airport before her flight back to the United Kingdom, officials said.

After her arraignment Monday at the East Boston BMC, she was given a $1,500 bond and required to surrender her passport.

State police were called to the U.S. Customs Hall around 9:30 p.m. after Folunsho was arrested Sunday for allegedly attempting to traffic marijuana, which is illegal in the country and has a street value of about $5,000 apiece. to fly back to Britain pounds, Hayden’s office said.

According to Hayden’s office, Folunsho is the second person who allegedly attempted to fly to the United Kingdom to be arrested at Logan Airport on marijuana trafficking charges in the last two months.

A Michigan woman was arrested and charged last month after U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents allegedly found 74 pounds of marijuana on her before her flight to London.

“These two arrests in a relatively short space of time should make it clear to anyone else trying to fly marijuana into the UK via Boston that this is, to say the least, a bad idea. It didn’t work for these two women, and it probably won’t work for anyone else,” Hayden said in a statement.

Trafficking in 50 to 100 pounds of marijuana is punishable under state law by a sentence of between two and a half and 15 years in state prison or a prison sentence of at least one year but not more than two and a half years.
