Danville couple charged with sexual abuse of minors

WASHINGTONVILLE BORO, MONTOUR COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Montour County couple was charged Wednesday with repeatedly sexually abusing a teenage girl.

These encounters allegedly began when the victim was 15 years old.

According to a Pennsylvania State Police report, these incidents occurred at Aikey’s home in the 1000 block of Front Street in Washingtonville Borough, at his cabin in Clinton County and sometimes in Aikey’s truck during trips through Montour County.

The report also stated that Aikey gave the minor marijuana to smoke during some of the reported encounters.

Aikey was allegedly aware of the minor’s age because she was friends with Landis’ teenage daughter.

According to the PSP report, 43-year-old Dennis Aikey of Danville was charged with 24 counts of serious crimes, including sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, aggravated sexual assault, enticement of a minor and involuntary deviant sexual intercourse with a minor.

Aikey’s girlfriend, 38-year-old Bethany Landis of Danville, was also charged with five serious crimes, including sexual and indecent assault, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse with a minor, unlawful contact with a minor and enticement of a minor.

Aikey is being held at Montour County Prison while Landis is being held at Columbia County Prison.
