Texan wanted for “numerous violent crimes” arrested in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A Texas man wanted for “numerous violent crimes” was arrested in Myrtle Beach last week.

According to records, 33-year-old Anthony Ansel Medrano of Conroe, Texas, was taken into custody on July 3.

A police report obtained by WMBF News states that officers with the Myrtle Beach Police Department said an officer spotted Medrano on 25th Avenue North and determined that he matched the description in a previously sent alert.

The officer made contact with Medrano and confirmed that he was the person mentioned in the alert. When another officer arrived, Medrano reportedly ran on foot and was asked to stop several times.

Police managed to locate and arrest him on 27th Avenue North.

According to the report, dispatchers later confirmed he was wanted in Texas on multiple charges. A warrant for Medrano’s arrest in Myrtle Beach also stated he was wanted for “weapons offenses and numerous pending violent crimes.”

WMBF News has reached out to authorities in the county where Medrano was wanted for more information on these outstanding charges.

Online records show Medrano remains in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center as of Wednesday afternoon.
