New Study Says Houston is Best City to Grow Business

According to a new study by Business Revenue Experts The RevOps Team, Houston is one of the U.S. cities with 10 or more companies listed in the S&P 500, and has been named the number one city with the fastest growing companies. faster in the United States. Houston had the highest average Business Growth (ABG) at 26.7 percent. Business experts have broken down data from the S&P 500 index to see which companies have seen the most growth in their stock prices over the past year.

Among the 28 states and cities with 10 or more companies listed in the S&P 500, Houston ranked first for growing companies with Atlanta in second place with 15 companies listed and achieving an ABG of 24.2 percent. Two Texas cities ranked in the top five, with Dallas taking third place with 14.9 percent.

Texas ranks fifth out of the top five states in business growth, with high-performing companies like Vistra. Vistra was the company with the highest growth in Texas at 277.68 percent, followed by NRG Energy (NRG) at 170.43 percent and Caterpillar Inc. (CAT) at 69.13 percent.

“You have to be willing to capitalize on opportunities and adapt to challenges,” Kerri Linsenbigler of the RevOps team said in a press release. “Growing a business anywhere in the United States is not for the faint-hearted, and Texas business owners will be proud to rank in the top five.”

In December, the city was ranked among the 25 best metro areas to start a small business in a report by personal finance website The Credit Review placed Houston in 22nd place.
