Houston woman found dead in alligator’s mouth

HOUSTON — A Houston woman who was previously reported missing was found dead Tuesday in the mouth of an alligator near a bayou in Clear Lake.

The woman’s cause of death is unknown, but police are investigating the incident as a possible alligator attack because of how she was found. Clear Lake is also known as the Bay Area.

According to KHOU, she went for a walk late Monday night and never returned. Her husband reported her missing early Tuesday morning.

Alligator attacks in Texas are rare, but they can happen, according to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department. Alligator sightings, on the other hand, are common in Houston.
