Lansing police discuss Memorial Day mass shooting

LANSING – Lansing police will hold a news conference Tuesday morning, a day after a mass shooting left seven young people injured, one fatally.

The shooting that killed a 17-year-old boy occurred early Monday morning in the 300 block of Riverfront Drive.

According to police, seven people between the ages of 15 and 20 were shot in the incident at 2:50 a.m. At least one person is in critical condition, according to a press release. The age of the person in critical condition was not disclosed.

“When officers arrived, they found a large crowd and several gunshot victims,” ​​the press release states. “The Lansing Fire Department immediately responded to the scene to treat several of the victims and transport them to a local hospital.”
