Dearborn man killed in road rage incident, Detroit man charged: Police

DETROIT – A Detroit man is facing charges in connection with a road rage incident that occurred in April that left a Dearborn man dead, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officers found Reda Saleh, 67, of Dearborn, unconscious and suffering from a head injury on a street near West Chicago Street and Greenfield Road.

According to prosecutors, Saleh was taken to a nearby hospital, where he remained until he died of his injuries on May 11.

Desmond Burks, 33, was charged with second-degree murder. He was jailed on a $1 million bond. If he is released from prison, he will be required to wear a GPS device and live under house arrest, according to prosecutors. His next court date is scheduled for May 24.

Prosecutors said Saleh’s car collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by Burks near an intersection of West Chicago Street and Greenfield Road at 6:45 p.m. on April 17, prosecutors said.

According to prosecutors, Burks then got into an argument with Saleh, punched him and left him lying in the street before fleeing the scene.
