Luke Gilman Elected President of Hispanic Bar Association of Houston – Jackson Walker

Jackson Walker partner Luke J. Gilman has been elected president of the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston (“HisBA”), beginning his term in August 2024.

HisBA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of Hispanics in the legal profession. The association hosts numerous activities throughout the year and raises funds to award scholarships to students attending Houston-area high schools and law schools.

“I am honored to serve as president of the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston,” said Luke. “I look forward to working with our members to continue HisBA’s vision and strengthen our community through service and advocacy.”

Luke specializes in litigation and arbitration, with a focus on technology, energy, and media disputes, as well as internal investigations. His expertise includes litigation involving complex commercial transactions, corporate governance and corporate matters, First Amendment and defamation litigation, international and domestic arbitration, technology-related litigation and investigations, and general commercial litigation.

He has handled cases in state and federal courts in Texas and across the country, as well as arbitrations under the AAA, ICC, ICDR and UNCITRAL Rules in various locations, including London, New York and Mexico City. Additionally, Luke has represented media defendants in a number of media disputes in Texas, California, New York, Florida and Utah. In recognition of his practice, Luke has been named one of the America’s Best Lawyers for commercial disputes and a Texas Super Lawyer.
