Police seize thousands of pills, guns, cars and cash in raids in Macomb and Oakland counties – Macomb Daily

Police seized thousands of pills, two vehicles, three firearms and more than $10,000 in cash from a suspected drug dealer in Warren, authorities said.

The County of Macomb Enforcement Team (COMET) executed search warrants at undisclosed locations in Warren and Madison Heights on June 5.

According to police, investigators seized 7,500 suspected Xanax pills, 1,900 pills that turned out to be methamphetamine, three firearms and a stolen 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. They also seized $10,000 in cash and a 2013 Lincoln MKZ with intent to collect.

“The approximate street value of the drugs is $38,000,” COMET officials said in a press release.

Michigan State Police said the suspect was taken to jail pending arraignment. Police did not name the individuals or reveal the locations of the raids.

COMET was assisted by Homeland Security Investigations and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the press release said.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.

COMET is an undercover drug task force comprised of officers from Chesterfield Township, Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Roseville, St. Clair Shores, Shelby Township and federal agencies.

The investigation was supported by the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG), awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice and administered by the State Police.
