Strong presence of Grady Jarrett despite limited time on the field

What Morris would describe next is an air of hunger, determination and passion.

For the first time in his ten-year career, Jarrett missed significant playing time due to injury. From surgery to rehabilitation, he went through the entire recovery process in the months following his injury in November. While he’s not yet on the field with the rest of the team, no one is minimizing what he has meant and will continue to mean to the product on the field.

For everyone, Morris said, especially the young defensive linemen coming in, “his presence is huge.”

Morris compared him to that of Aaron Donald, with whom Morris coached and won a Super Bowl championship during his time with the Los Angeles Rams. There was also a certain respect that Donald had for Jarrett, Morris recalled.

Overall, though, there’s something to be said for Jarrett’s presence in Flowery Branch, regardless of how much on-field work he’s able to accomplish right now.

“That presence is really special when you have him in that room,” Morris said.
