Police: Baby and fatally injured woman found in car in Old East Dallas

Officers found a fatally injured woman and a baby in a vehicle in Old East Dallas early Monday, police said.

Shortly after 4 a.m., officers were dispatched in response to a shooting in the 500 block of South Carroll Avenue, police said.

According to police, officers found a woman named Tacara Nashay Reese-Windom, 23, who had been shot in a vehicle.

Authorities also found a five-month-old baby in the vehicle. The child was taken to a medical facility for examination, police added.

The investigation into the death is ongoing, police said.
