Round Lake Beach man injured in motorcycle crash in Gurnee on Thursday

Police have identified a 57-year-old Round Lake Beach man as the victim of a car crash on Grand Avenue in Gurnee late Thursday, authorities said.

Gurnee officers responded to a traffic accident in the area of ​​Grand Avenue near Dilley’s Road at 7:20 p.m. Thursday involving a Toyota SUV and a Kawasaki motorcycle, Gurnee police officials said in a news release.

When officers arrived, the 57-year-old motorcyclist had already been thrown from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries, authorities said.

He was immediately taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center for treatment, authorities said.

The initial investigation revealed that a Toyota driven by a 51-year-old Gurnee woman was traveling east on Grand Avenue and after passing Dilley’s Road attempted to turn left into a parking lot on the north side of the road, authorities said.

The Toyota collided with the motorcycle, which was traveling westbound on Grand Avenue in the far right lane, authorities said.

According to authorities, no other injuries were reported in the accident.

Westbound Grand Avenue was closed for several hours while investigators from the Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) assisted with the crash investigation, authorities said.

Authorities said this accident remains under investigation by Gurnee Police.
