High heat and humidity continues in New Jersey; tracking scattered showers, storms

There is a heat advisory in effect for most of New Jersey through at least tomorrow for high heat and humidity creating feel like temperatures near 100 degrees.

Rain showers move across parts of New Jersey this morning before tapering later on a sweltering day of high heat and humidity. Highs today reach 90. Feel like temperatures will be near 95.

A random/rogue thunderstorm cannot be ruled out, either. However, it’s more likely to stay dry than to see the rain. This is the same pattern for the next several days where it will be hot and humid with a chance for a pop-up late day thunderstorm.

We are likely entering our fourth heat wave of the season as a stretch of 90-degree weather is here to stay through the rest of this week and the weekend. There does not seem to be a pattern change for the foreseeable future at this time.

TROPICAL UPDATE

There will likely be a developing tropical disturbance over the Bahamas or near the Southeast coast by early next week. Although this isn’t promised, there is a chance that something can be organized here. It is too soon to say where the storm will go once it forms and if it impacts the east coast, but it will be monitored should it develop.
