Urgent search for missing Buffalo teenager

BUFFALO, NEW YORK—The Buffalo Police Department is urgently asking for the public’s help in locating Natasha Gonzalez, 15, who has been reported missing. Natasha is described as a Hispanic female, approximately 5’2″, 100 lbs, with brown eyes and black hair with a blonde streak. She also wears glasses.

Details regarding her clothing at the time of her disappearance are unknown. Natasha was last seen in the Walden/Wood neighborhood and may be in the vicinity of Chadduck, 7th St or Ada Place.

Anyone with information on Natasha Gonzalez’s current location is encouraged to contact 911 immediately. The Buffalo Police Department is stepping up efforts to ensure her safe return.

  • Israel strikes Yemen after drone strike kills one, wounds eight in Tel Aviv

    TEL AVIV, ISRAEL – In response to an attack on Tel Aviv last night, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) warplanes launched airstrikes against military targets of the Houthi regime in Yemen.

    The operation focused on the Al Hudaydah port area, in response to a series of attacks on Israel in recent months, including a deadly drone strike in central Tel Aviv.

    A drone, identified as a Simad 3 – an Iranian-made system that was reportedly launched from Yemen – struck a building in Tel Aviv, killing one civilian and injuring eight others. The Israeli Foreign Ministry confirmed the details, stressing the seriousness of the threat posed by such long-range drones capable of traveling from Yemen to Israeli territory.

    The Israeli government reiterated its determination to preserve national security and prevent further attacks, indicating that military and diplomatic efforts are intensifying in response to the ongoing conflict. The memory of the victim was honored and wishes for a speedy recovery were extended to the injured.

  • Wilkes-Barre man threatened to cut woman ‘from ear to ear’

    WILKES-BARRE, PA – A domestic dispute in Wilkes-Barre escalated into violence Wednesday morning, leading to the arrest of Victor Otero, 29.

    The incident occurred at 7:35 a.m. on South Main Street, where city police responded to a call about a confrontation at a local residence. Upon arrival, officers were informed by a 30-year-old woman that she had been threatened with a knife by Otero during a violent argument.

    The victim said that during the altercation, the defendant retrieved a kitchen knife and threatened to “slice her from ear to ear.”

    According to the victim, the altercation escalated when Otero allegedly retrieved a kitchen knife and threatened to seriously injure her. Fearing for her safety, she managed to escape the residence and contact authorities. Otero was later arrested and taken to the city police headquarters to be charged.

  • South Ozone Park man charged in fatal shooting at birthday party

    SOUTH OZONE PARK, NEW YORK – Curtis Benjamin, a 27-year-old South Ozone Park resident, has been charged with multiple counts, including murder and attempted murder, following a fatal incident at a Richmond Hill birthday party in 2022.

    Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced that Benjamin was indicted today on 14 counts, including second-degree murder and various weapons and assault charges. The shooting, which occurred on July 2, 2022, resulted in the death of Justin Baerga, 24, and left three others injured.

    The tragic incident occurred around 9:39 p.m. at D-Touch Collision, an auto repair shop, where Baerga was celebrating his birthday. Benjamin reportedly arrived at the scene in a black SUV, approached the shop and fired 12 shots into the garage where the party was taking place, hitting Baerga in the head and legs.

    Baerga was later taken to Jamaica Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The other victims survived the attack. Benjamin is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on September 19. If convicted, he could face a sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
