Cobblestone District fire causes $1.1 million in damage

Cobblestone District fire causes .1 million in damage

A fire broke out Tuesday evening at 110-118 South Park Ave. in the Cobblestone neighborhood of downtown Buffalo.

The fire was first reported around 7:50 p.m. Firefighters say it started on the first floor of the vacant building and spread everywhere.

Although it is unclear whether any building demolition is necessary, Buffalo Fire Commissioner William Renaldo said parts of the structure are compromised.

Firefighters estimate the damage is estimated at $1.1 million.

The investigation is looking into the causes of the fire.

The city of Buffalo used Eminent Domain procedures to attempt to acquire the two properties along South Park Avenue.

This fire comes just days after popular Buffalo dive bar The Old Pink on Allen Street was destroyed Monday when a massive fire broke out on site.
