Buffalo police officer injured in hit-and-run while responding to call

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo Police say an officer was injured while responding to a call Tuesday evening.

Police said that shortly before 10 p.m., the officer responded to a call in the area of ​​Michigan Avenue and Edna Place. The officer was in the street when he was struck from the side by a vehicle that was unrelated to the initial call.

Police say the vehicle fled the scene and the officer was transported to ECMC where he was treated and released.
