Nominations Sought for Community Service Award in Buffalo Grove

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. — Considered a “beacon of community service and dedication,” Bill Reid made a difference in the local community. Reid, the late village trustee known as “Mr. Buffalo Grove,” died in 2000, but his legacy lives on.

The Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove recently announced it is accepting nominations for the 2024 Bill Reid Award. This “prestigious” award aims to honor and recognize outstanding individuals in the community who have demonstrated “a long-term commitment to strengthening the spirit and improvement of Buffalo Grove.”

Pricing details, according to the Village of Buffalo Grove website:

  • Nomination Deadline — All nominations must be received by June 10.
  • Awards Ceremony — The recipient will be honored in a public ceremony, which will include the presentation of a plaque of recognition and contributions of $250 to the charity of the recipient’s choice and to the Rotary Foundation on behalf of the recipient. recipient. In addition, the recipient’s name will be inscribed on the permanent award recognition plaque located in the lobby of the village hall, located at 50 Raupp Blvd.
  • Event Date — The award presentation will take place at an upcoming summer/fall Rotary Club luncheon or community event.
