Austin police investigating dead body found near Lady Bird Lake

The Austin Police Department discovered a dead body near Lady Bird Lake in East Austin on Wednesday, although it was not immediately clear how the person died and whether any foul play was involved.

Homicide detectives were responding to the 2700 block of Canterbury Street just before 4 pm to investigate the discovery of the body. A media briefing is expected to take place after the Medical Examiner’s Office takes the body.
