No one was injured in train-car accident early Sunday morning

St. Cloud (WJON News) – No one was injured in a train-car collision early Sunday morning. The St. Cloud Fire Department said it was called to the crash at 5:15 a.m. at the railroad crossing on 7th Street SE in St. Cloud.

Authorities say when they arrived, the car was fully engulfed in flames, but it was quickly extinguished, no one was inside the car, and the vehicle was removed from the tracks. Firefighters say the train struck the car at the corner of 15th Street SE and Lincoln Avenue before coming to a stop at 7th Street SE.

BNSF employees were on site to assess the damage, and the railroad crossings at 7th Street SE and 15th Street SE were closed until late morning.
