Husband of a daycare worker sexually abuses children: Police in California

The husband of a daycare worker has been accused of sexually abusing a four-year-old girl, California police said.

The husband of a daycare worker was arrested after being accused of sexually abusing three children, California authorities said.

Antonio Chavez, 65, is accused of sexually abusing a 4-year-old girl at the Chavez Family Daycare in Riverside, according to a July 10 Facebook post by Riverside police.

Police said they discovered that Chavez sexually abused two other children over the past three years while they attended the daycare.

Chavez was arrested on July 3 and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child, police said.

Officials said he was being held on $1 million bail.

McClatchy News reached out to Riverside police on July 10 for more information and awaited a response.

Riverside is located about 60 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
