Police investigate double stabbing in the street

Two people were stabbed in a brawl in Nottingham city centre.

Nottinghamshire Police said they were called to Wilford Street shortly before 4am (BST) on Sunday.

Police said several people were involved in a fight and the two people who were stabbed were taken to hospital.

Five men aged between 24 and 40 were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

Det Insp Lisa Jones said: “Officers are conducting a full and thorough investigation to establish what happened.”

Police say a cordon will remain in place while officers investigate the incident.
