Officials release name of Billings man killed in reported driving aggression incident

BILLINGS – The Yellowstone County Coroner’s Office on Monday released the name of a Billings man who police say died as a result of a road rage incident.

Denis Lee Osborne, 55, of Billings, died after the incident on June 6 at Radford Square West in Billings Heights. The cause and manner of death have not been determined, the coroner’s office said.

The day after the incident, police announced they were investigating Osborne’s death as a homicide. Investigators determined that Osborne and a 17-year-old teenager were involved in an altercation on the street that began as an incident of road rage.

A family member of the victim told MTN that Osborne yelled at the teenager to slow down.

According to police, officers arrived at the scene around 9 p.m. and found Osborne with serious injuries. He was taken to a hospital in Billings, where he later died.

The teenager initially left the scene but then returned and cooperated with investigators, police said in a press release. No arrests have been announced in the case so far.
