People should prepare to be without water for indefinite amount of time, says Watershed – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — A water main break is having widespread impact in parts of Atlanta.

Channel 2 Action News spoke with Al Wiggins Jr., commissioner of the Atlanta Department of Watershed Management, who said the department began receiving reports of little to no water pressure from residents from Atlanta around 8 a.m. Friday.

The main break affects residents in East Atlanta, Midtown, Midtown, West Atlanta and Southwest Atlanta.

Atlanta City Hall, Fulton County offices and many downtown attractions, like the Georgia Aquarium, closed due to the main break.

Wiggins said repairs on the water main would not begin until 5 p.m. and businesses and homeowners should prepare to have no water for an indefinite period of time.
