Suspect charged with manslaughter in hit-and-run that killed police officer on I-84

Alex Oyola-Sanchez, 44, faces several charges, including second-degree manslaughter, in connection with the hit-and-run crash that left Trooper First Class Aaron Pelletier dead.

Bail was set at $5 million.

Authorities had said Pelletier, of Troop H-Hartford, was standing next to his patrol car conducting a traffic stop when he was sideswiped and killed by a red pickup truck. They also said the driver fled the scene but was arrested near Exit 39A after the truck broke down.
