Video shows bear strolling through New Jersey after city issues bear warning

NEW JERSEY (PIX11) – A bear sighting prompted the town of Verona, New Jersey, to issue a bear warning to residents, according to the town’s official Facebook page.

Yes, you read that right! The city has notified residents of a bear sighting near Claremont and Elmwood.

However, this bear was not paying any attention as he casually strolled through the videos obtained by PIX11 News.

The bear trudged through a patch of greenery while a stream flowed in the background. A man whistles as the bear runs through the plants, video obtained by PIX11 News shows.

Bear attacks on humans are rare and most encounters end without injury. However, every bear encounter is different and people should exercise caution, according to the National Park Service.

In another video, the black bear, displaying a calm and casual demeanor, was captured leisurely strolling through a backyard in New Jersey, PIX11 News reported.

According to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, New Jersey is home to an estimated 3,100 bears.
