Kent Police Catch Teen Suspect in the Act Thanks to Attentive Neighbor – KIRO 7 News Seattle

KENT, Wash. – Two teenage burglary suspects were caught escaping a home under construction thanks to a vigilant neighbor.

It happened last week on Southeast 259th Street.

A neighbor saw the two teenagers jumping over a fence and running around with flashlights. He continued to watch the pair as they loaded a van with stolen equipment.

The 16 and 17 year old suspects were arrested and the property was seized. The witness was also able to provide officers with surveillance video of the crime.

The police arrived while the neighbor was still on the phone to the emergency number. Officers were alerted when the vehicle began to flee and were able to stop it.

The case was transferred to King County Juvenile Court.
