Manchester Township driver thrown from motorized bicycle after collision with SUV

A man riding a motorized bicycle was injured when he ignored a traffic light and collided with a Ford Explorer in a crash in Manchester Township on Sunday, according to police.

According to police, this happened at 12:46 a.m. at the intersection of Commonwealth Boulevard and Northampton Boulevard.

According to authorities, 18-year-old William Roberts of Manchester Township was ejected from the motorcycle after the initial collision with the Ford. They say the Ford was also completely engulfed in flames and no one was inside the vehicle.

Roberts was taken to Jersey Shore University Hospital and is in stable condition. According to police, the Ford Explorer was driven by 26-year-old Tzvi Kaplovitz, also of Manchester Township, who was not injured in the accident.

The roadway was partially closed during the investigation and cleanup work.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing, but police believe that failure to obey traffic lights appears to be the main reason. No charges were filed.
