The Marshmallow Incident at the Historic Hoover Theater San Francisco 2024

Between two cities separated by a dotted yellow line and a reason no one can clearly remember, an intrepid apprentice knight will find out in “The Marshmallow Incident,” an adaptation of the popular book by Judi Barrett and Ron Barrett , how to bring everyone back together (creator of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs). With an original score by local artist Sean Mendelson and a screenplay adaptation by Playful People artistic director Katie D’Arcey, The Marshmallow Incident features a colorful cast of characters, a variety of marshmallows and plenty of laughs.

In “The Marshmallow Incident,” the city of the left and the city of the right are separated by a dotted yellow line, and no one on one side or the other can remember how it came to be. The line is guarded by the Order of the Two-Handed Knights, whose sole duty is to ensure that no one crosses the line. When the border is accidentally crossed, the knights spring into action – but their only ammunition is 50,000 boxes of marshmallows!
